    North Montgomery Community School Corporation is proud to offer the Charger KidZone (CKZ) After School Program. Located at Lester B. Sommer Elementary, Pleasant Hill Elementary, and Sugar Creek Elementary, CKZ will place an emphasis on personal relationships and individualized learning, The program will provide homework and/or enrichment help (20-30 minutes), hands-on activities, games, free play time and connections with learning that is occurring during the school day.

  • New Student Registration for 2021-22 School Year

    Welcome New Students!
    Parents who have access to a desktop computer can begin the registration process at: https://ecollect.accelaschool.com/NMCSC.  Please have all documentation, contact and medical information gathered before beginning the process.  For a list of documents that will be required for registration, please scroll down to the ** New Student Documentation Checklist section of this page.
    If you need assistance or have questions, contact the school your student will be attending.  Contact information for each school is listed below.

    Transferring Students

    Families living out of district who are interested in transferring to one of our schools should first contact the school directly for information about the process and any requirements. All transfers are at the discretion of the school administration. To verify if you are out of district, please refer to our
    school boundary map.

    New Student Documentation Checklist

    You will need the following documentation for registering a new student. These may be uploaded during the online registration process or brought in-person to the school (please call in advance). Registration is not complete until all documentation is received. Residency procedures do not apply to homeless students.

    Birth Certificate
    A valid IN driver’s license or state issued ID with current address
    One of the following forms of proof of residency documents:
    1.    A current utility bill, cable, cell or telephone bill, tax return, bank statement, mortgage statement, rental/lease agreement, Section 8 Use Agreement, purchase agreement, home/rental insurance statement, medical bill or other like information that provides a verifiable address. Documentation should be dated within 60 days of student enrollment and the date should be clearly identified and readable on the copy on file for the student. Partial residency documents are only accepted in the most extreme circumstances.
    Guardianship/Custody documents (If applicable)
    Current Immunization and Health Records
    Prior School Transcripts/records (If applicable)

  • Welcome to the Lester B Sommer Elementary Website. We are home of the Sommer “Patriots”. Sommer Elementary is located on Highway 136 west of Crawfordsville. Sommer Elementary is one of three identical elementary schools in the North Montgomery Community School Corporation. Our school serves the community of Waynetown and surrounding areas.

    Sommer Elementary is truly a community school. Our staff lives in the Crawfordsville community and other close surrounding areas. Sommer Elementary teachers are committed to the highest achievement in their classrooms. Sommer’s staff and students are goal oriented and are always looking to improve themselves and the school.

    Students at Sommer can participate in many activities such as academic teams; Spell Bowl, Math Bowl, and clubs such as Chess Club, Gardening Club, Student Council, and sports activities such as volleyball, cheerleading, etc.

    Parents are welcomed and encouraged to help be a part of the activities that happen at Sommer. Parents can volunteer for many activities such as our annual Pancake Breakfast, Teacher Appreciation Day, Fine Arts and Science Fair and many other events that happen throughout the year. There is a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) that includes several parent leaders and any interested parent can attend meetings and offer input in activities or ideas to continue to improve the educational quality here at Sommer Elementary.

    Sommer Elementary is a place that strives to focus on students and helping them to grow and achieve academically as well as helping them and modeling for them good character traits. We believe that partnering with parents and the community is a key to a student’s success. We look forward to seeing you soon!
