About Us

Welcome to the Lester B Sommer Elementary Website. We are home of the Sommer “Patriots”. Sommer Elementary is located on Highway 136 west of Crawfordsville. Sommer Elementary is one of three identical elementary schools in the North Montgomery Community School Corporation. Our school serves the community of Waynetown and surrounding areas.

 

Sommer Elementary is truly a community school. Our staff lives in the Crawfordsville community and other close surrounding areas. Sommer Elementary teachers are committed to the highest achievement in their classrooms. Sommer’s staff and students are goal oriented and are always looking to improve themselves and the school.

 

Students at Sommer can participate in many activities such as academic teams; Spell Bowl, Math Bowl, and clubs such as Student Council, Orff Ensemble, Choir, Art Club and sports activities such as volleyball.

 

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to help be a part of the activities that happen at Sommer. Sommer Elementary has a very active and involved Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) that helps to provide funding for Field Trips, Convocations, Movie Nights and many other activities that help support the students and staff. We have Parent Volunteers that help with many of the activates that are sponsored by the Sommer PTO such as STEAM Day, Donuts for Grown Ups, Kids Against Hunger Project, Ice Cream Days and many other events.

 

Sommer Elementary is a place that strives to focus on students and helping them to grow and achieve academically as well as Social and Emotional growth. We believe that partnering with parents and the community is a key to a student’s success. We look forward to seeing you soon!
